  • To summarise for those who cant understand.

In Capital Knot City (probably the capital of the UCA, formerly Washington DC), pregnant women with high levels of dooming are kept in some sort of coma or vegetative state where they are close to death, they are called "still mothers". While unconscious, the conditions inside the womb allows the babies inside of them to form a connection with the "other side", another dimension if sorts connected to the world of the dead.

The babies are extracted from the wombs and put in capsules that mimic the condition of a still womb. This is an act of deception which will be important in the storyline.

BBs are babies owned by bridge corporation, BB stands for Bridge Baby. Because they are connected with the death stranding and can tap into the other side allowing them to see BTs, which are dead people and creatures from the other side (think of the demogorgon from stranger things, not an alien but an inter dimensional being), they are used by humans to detect BT activity. Babies in this world are not treated as sacred and are used primarily as equipment and discarded, possibly left for dead when they are no longer useful. The BBs are fooled into thinking they are still in their mother's womb, but eventually they become self conscious and "malfunction". Sam is advised not to form a connection and see the BB as a tool as opposed to a human being, but overtime Sam develops a parental bond with the BB, and looks after it as if it's his own child, this is likely going to cause the BB to malfunction and realise it's not in a still womb. The baby may become an important character in the storyline.

The capsule is being updated to trick the baby into thinking it's still in the womb to extend its effective usage but the BB has a limited time before its brain develops and it's no longer able to function as a BB. This may create a situation where Sam will remove the BB from the capsule and sacrifice his own protection to save the child.

  • I kind of think Deadman may not be an actual person… Like he is just a human consciousness uploaded to the chiral network and is now like a tech guy. The fact the character has that lobotomy looking scar… maybe deadman's body was dying or something so he had his brain removed and it's chilling in a jar somewhere or directly hooked up to the chiral network so he can be anywhere (as a hologram) anytime and advise people as needed.
